Ownership Options

Wanting to get invloved with owning a showjumper?

There are lots of different ways to suit every circumstance/budget.

Owning a showjumper can be great fun, it is a great journey watching your horse progress through the levels, full of ups and downs no doubt but it is a special jounrey to be involved with.

Owning a showjumper doesn't need to be expensive if you choose a part share option.

Shares in horses are available from 10% to 50% meaning that the cost can be reduced to 10% to 50% also!

With a share in a horse you can still have all of the fun of full ownership: regular visiting days at Lowton Stud to watch your horse in training from the new owners lounge, regular meetings to discuss progress reports, watch videos and make plans for shows.

You could embark on this journey with a group of friends or you could use it as an opportunity to make new friends with likeminded people.

What does it cost?

It depends on the horse as the initial cost would be 10% (or chosen percentage) of the value of the horse. For example a 10% share in a 4 year old is likely to be in the region of £1000, a more experienced horse would be higher.

The cost of owning the horse is obviously greatly reduced and a 10% share would cost as little as £30 per week (including livery, entry fees, farrier, competition expenses and insurance. No hidden costs)

Shares are available in some of the current lowton Stud horses or a new horse could be found to suit requirements.

Partnership Options

At Lowton Stud we are also interested to talk to breeders or owners of showjumping horses about possible partnership options.

Want to have your horse produced without the monthly cost? This may be the option for you! It involves reducing your ownership share of the horse in exchange for no costs for producing the horse for a sport career.

We already work in partnership with one breeder in France and would be interested to talk to other owners/breeders about doing the same. For breeders who have a talented mare to be produced for sport there is the option to take embryos whilst in training, we can faciliate that here at Lowton.

Horse would need to be assessed.

If you feel that you have a talented showjumper of any age and would like to join the Lowton team then please get in touch via our email contact form on the Contact page.
