Our Breeding Programme

We began our breeding programme in 2008 with one breeding mare Castle Anna, a former 1.60m GP mare who gave us 5 foals.

Breeding has always been a passion of ours as we love the whole process of raising a foal from birth to achieving their potential in a sport career.

Alex recognised early on that she could breed a higher quality horse than she was likely to be able to afford to  purchase and so the vision for the breeding programme stems from an ambition to compete at a high level and a way to faciliate that dream.

It is a long process but very rewarding (we hope!)

Our Mares

Our breeding mares are mostly mares that have retired from our showjumping team so we know them well and can therefore select suitable stallions for them based on this knowledge.

Most of our mares competed to 1.40m level or have maternal relatives at Grand Prix level. We are very proud of our mare herd and excited to see how our youngstock develop.

We hope to also take some embryo's from some of our current jumping team alongside their sport career.

Big Dreams

Our dream is that Lowton horses will be successful at the highest level one day, and we will dedicate our lifetime to following this dream.
